Psalms 84:7

King James Bible

"They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God."

Commentary

Pilgrims journeying to Jerusalem experience increasing vigor rather than fatigue, a paradox suggesting divine empowerment. The Hebrew implies progression through stages or stopping places, where each milestone brings renewed energy for worship rather than exhaustion from travel. The pilgrimage culminates in the temple courts where worshippers encounter God's presence face-to-face. Zion represents both the physical destination of Jerusalem and the spiritual apex of communion with the divine, emphasizing that none who undertake this journey are excluded from this ultimate meeting.
