Proverbs 16:10

King James Bible

"A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment."

Commentary

This depicts the ideal king as speaking with God-given wisdom and authority. In ancient Israel, kings were viewed as God's representatives on earth, and their words in judgment were expected to reflect divine justice rather than personal opinion. The ideal ruler's judicial decisions remain faithful to righteousness and never violate God's standards. This sets a high moral expectation for royal authority, emphasizing that true kingship requires alignment with divine justice rather than arbitrary rule.
