"There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest."
Job refers to Sheol (the realm of the dead) where even the most oppressive and violent people can no longer inflict harm. In his extreme suffering, Job views death as a leveling force that strips the wicked of their power to torment others. The exhausted and afflicted finally find relief from life's burdens in death. Job's words reflect his profound despair, seeing the grave as a refuge where those worn down by suffering—like himself—can escape their pain.
