Galatians 4:21

King James Bible

"Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?"

Commentary

Paul directly challenges the Galatian Christians who are turning back to Jewish law observance for justification. His rhetorical question exposes the irony of their position—they claim to follow the law but fail to grasp its true message. Paul asks if they truly understand what the law itself teaches, implying they've missed its deeper purpose. He's about to demonstrate through the Abraham narrative that the law itself points to faith and freedom, not bondage.
