Galatians 3:9

King James Bible

"So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham."

Commentary

Paul draws a conclusion from his previous argument that Abraham was justified by faith, not works. Those who likewise trust God rather than rely on law-keeping share the same spiritual lineage and receive the same divine acceptance. Believers participate in the very blessing God promised Abraham—inclusion in God's covenant people and righteousness by faith. Paul emphasizes Abraham's faith as the defining characteristic, making him the spiritual father of all who believe, whether Jew or Gentile.
