"And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest."
God responds directly to Moses' plea for divine accompaniment as Israel journeys to the Promised Land. This comes after the golden calf incident when God initially threatened to send only an angel, making this personal response a restoration of intimate relationship. God promises His actual presence—literally His 'face' in Hebrew—will accompany Moses and Israel.
