King James Bible
"Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither."
Moses recalls how God's anger extended to him because of Israel's rebellion at Kadesh-barnea, where the people refused to enter the Promised Land. Though Moses later attributes his ban to his own sin at Meribah (Numbers 20), here he emphasizes how the people's faithlessness had consequences that affected even their leader. God pronounces the same judgment on Moses that fell upon the rebellious generation—exclusion from Canaan. The word 'also' links Moses' fate with that of the people he led, underscoring the corporate nature of their wilderness judgment.
