Acts 14:25

King James Bible

"And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:"

Commentary

Paul and Barnabas complete their ministry in Perga, a major city in Pamphylia where they had passed through earlier without preaching (Acts 13:13-14). The phrase indicates they fulfilled their missionary obligation by proclaiming the gospel message before departing the region. The missionaries descend from inland Perga to Attalia, a coastal port city about 12 miles away. This geographical movement prepares for their sea voyage back to Antioch, marking the conclusion of their first missionary journey through Asia Minor.
